About Ottawa Minimally Invasive Gynecology

Who We Are

The Ottawa Minimally Invasive Gynecology (OMIG) Research Group is led by Dr. S. Singh (Lead Investigator) and includes a team of clinician researchers, research associates, surgical fellows and students. Overall, the focus of this research group aligns around specific gynecologic disease states, the delivery & education of surgical care and health care utilization in gynecology.

The disease focus is “complex gynecologic conditions” and this includes endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Chronic pelvic pain, infertility and heavy menstrual bleeding are the main symptoms being evaluated. The surgical outcomes/procedures include hysterectomy, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy procedures.
